Empire Axe 2.0 Review (2023) – Everything You Need to Know

Empire Axe 2.0 is one of those best paintball markers that justify requirements at a reasonable price. It was first introduced in 2018 and I also bought it in the same year. Now I am going to share my personal experience after playing so many competitions with it.

Overview (First Impression – Performance)

I was quite impressed the first time I held it in my hands. The sensation in my hands was decent with the solid stock barrel. It is perfect for newbies, intermediate and pro-level paintball players. The Empire Ax 2.0 is an affordable and advanced paintball gun.

You can fix the gun without any equipment. I found this gun mechanically flawless and there is a piece of advice for players that use this marker with no advancement. I also made no more changes, just incorporated a redline sheet. It performs well in its own design.

It is a good choice for paintball games due to its high Gunshot speed. You will not face any problem of broken balls even at the highest shot speed. The ASA regulator permitted me to switch the working pressure. With this regulator, you can effortlessly take and remove the pressure from the gun. The unbreakable eye system and push button for the bolt system made cleaning easy and fast.

What are the Upgrades in Empire Axe 2.0?

Empire Axe 2.0 Review

After the impressive results of my experience with the Empire Mini GS marker, I decided to take a step ahead and get the Empire Axe 2.0. This choice was driven by my interest to discover its enhancements and uplift my gameplay. The Empire Axe 2.0 not only lived up to my expectations but also efficiently addressed the worries I had faced with the Mini GS.

Large Trigger Area

The Mini GS had a limited trigger area that made finger movement hard. On the other hand, the Empire Axe 2.0 features a large trigger area that allows for relaxed finger movement. Paintball performers often complained about feeling cramped when holding the Mini GS marker. To resolve this problem, the company has enlarged the trigger area in the Axe 2.0

Barrel & Bolt

The Empire mini GS features a 12-inch barrel made as a single unit, while the Axe 2.0 claims a 2-piece 12-inch barrel. The 2-piece barrel design offers suitable storage and allows for interchangeable bore tips, sizes, and colors. In contrast, the one-piece barrel tends to be less precise when it comes to hitting the target accurately.

In earlier versions, equipment was necessary to unscrew the bolt placed at the bottom. However, Axe 2.0 has a convenient push-button mechanism that easily removes the bolt for cleaning or maintenance tasks. I found this innovation particularly interesting, as it reduces the dependence on wrenches and simplifies the overall procedure.

The only minor challenge I met is that occasionally, the bolt might be a bit hardy when sliding out. Thus, be watchful if you need to reposition it.

Gauge Removed

While I appreciated the gauge feature that assisted in checking my tank usage. I faced an issue with the gauge continuously pressing into my wrist. The noteworthy upgrade, or maybe it could be seen as both positive and negative, is that Empire eliminated the gauge from Axe 2.0. Whether you use your right hand or left hand, you won’t have to worry about the gauge discomfort pressing against your wrist anymore.

Eye Covers

The Empire Mini GS lacks eye covers. Allen keys are required to expose the bolt and for cleaning broken paintballs. This technique wastes a lot of time and distresses your game.

This advanced model includes eye covers. The screw present on the eyes can open with the Allen keys. Also, clean the broken paintball within no time and enjoy your game.

Empire Axe 2.0 can function with delicate paintballs. If any ball collapses it can be cleared easily. But in Empire Mini, you have to eliminate the whole frame to clear the broken paintball.

Waterproof Fore Grip

The front grip is now equipped with a rubber casing instead of the previous metal component. This covering offers excellent handling control. It also works to protect the internal electronic components from water damage, making them water-resistant. Additionally, there’s the choice to mount an OLED Panel onto the front grip. The refining design has been significantly improved compared to its earlier version.

Comparison with Axe Pro

When discussing the Axe Pro, it becomes obvious that it beats the scope of Axe 2.0. While presenting its distinctive features, including the combination of an OLED panel, a more sizable frame, and a feed neck created from aluminum, and others.

The Axe 2.0 is viewed as a premier choice among paintball markers, particularly preferred by expert players. Notably, Axe 2.0 differentiates itself by its remarkable feature of less kickback and maintaining quietness throughout its process. Investing in Axe 2.0 certainly proves to be a useful expenditure.

  • No kickback and Less noise
  • No need for enhancements

Things I didn’t like
